RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG to STAFF - Sun., Jan. 7, 2018

Dear Hardworking RES Staff,

It was a cold first week, but hopefully the weather will even out this week.  We are short on subs, but your health and wellbeing is paramount.  Please take care of yourself!  Encourage lots of hand washing in your classrooms!

Important Items to Know:   

Ski Runners - A list of students participating will be coming out next week once it's finalized.  Students who are participating know they must do any work they miss during that time.  It officially begins  this Friday.  Students will leave at 1:15 PM from their classrooms.

 Website - As part of my last grad class, I developed a new website for Reading Elementary School.  Please check it out.   I have links to the old website, but if you share your actual website link with me if you have it somewhere else I can built it in and it will open quicker.  If you haven't redone your website, please consider doing so.  

 Message from the PTO - PTO has it’s regularly scheduled meeting next Wednesday the 10th, 6pm in the multi purpose room. Please come if you can.  We have not had enough attendance to get our officers voted in, and would really like to get this done!


The Pasta Supper is scheduled to happen Sunday February 11th.  I hope that we can continue tradition, and get the theme baskets together to raffle.   If your class will be creating a basket, lease let me know what themes we may expect this year.  This is such a popular event, so thank you.

We are hoping to get more volunteers for this years pasta supper, so we folks can have shorter shifts.  If any of you are able to pop in to help, please let us know.  Normally, we need dish washers & runners (fillers of bread baskets & such).

                  Dear Dedicated Staff, It's hard to believe this is the last staff blog  of  the school year.  Thank you for taking the time  to read  it even though you are crazy busy with end of year items.   I want to commend those of you who are ALWAYS professional and focused on students, and kind and courteous to your colleagues and myself.  We all have an exhausting job, but it's time for a well deserved rest.   Change is always a challenge.  I applaud those of you who accept and welcome change with a  positive  attitude and as an opportunity for growth.  I hope you have a rejuvenating summer.  I'd love to have our returning staff over to my home for a cook-out in late August.   I'll be sending out an e-mail to those of you who check it.  I'll be in and out throughout the summer, so don't  hesitate  to text me if you have any questions.   We wish Beth Ann, Libbet, Greg, and Pam the best as they begin their next leg of life's journey!  You will be missed!

                  Dear Hardworking  Staff, KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":   Paitra for cooking corn muffins for the Community forum. Pam and her son for helping provide childcare. Kathi F., Lisa K. for attending Thurs. night's presentation.                   Dear Dynamic Staff, I was at my UVM library class this weekend and am reminded how blessed I am to work in such a small but caring school.  The book that we're currently reading is called Best Schools by Thomas Armstrong, and it is what our school culture resonates naturally.  KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":   Heather for "filling in the holes" whenever we're shorthanded!
