RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG TO STAFF - Sun., Aug. 26, 2018
Dear Amazing RES Staff,
As many of you know, I'm en route back to Vermont from my 40th high school reunion. There's nothing like a reunion to help put life into perspective. We had so many shared smiles when we mentioned particular teachers and staff who touched our lives those many years ago. The impact YOU have on other's lives is immeasurable!
We welcome our new staff to our RES family! It's going to be a fantastic year!
KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":
Staff Work Hours - Staff hours are 7:15 - 2:45 PM which includes a 40 min. lunch for teachers and a 30 min. lunch for others. Jared will be here starting Wed. at 12:30 PM everyday to clean the cafeteria after lunch.
Morning Meetings - We will start at 7:35 and need to be finished promptly so students can be in class by 7:45 AM. Here is a tentative list of the meeting leaders. The agenda: group greeting, pledge, staff announcements, birthday recognition or a quick song, and conclude with a mindfulness moment.

- Pam B. for being in charge Friday in my absence!
- Amy and Jared for their work over the summer!
- Each of you for getting your rooms and yourself ready to start the school year!
Important Items to Know:
Food Service Changes - We welcome Paitra Martin as the cook for our school. Procedures have changed with the implementation of the district food service. There will be no snack served from the kitchen. Students should bring their own snacks or purchase a "Grab and Go" breakfast. (I will be purchasing boxes of snacks for each classroom to use with students who need a snack and didn't get breakfast.) Adult lunches are now $4.50 per day and you can pay online. Menus are in the parent blog. Coffee is available with K-cups in the copy room for now.
Staff Blurbs - Please give me a paragraph about you and an overview of your opening units, etc. by Friday, Aug. 31, for next week's blog.
Websites - Please update your websites and see me if you need help with it. Please send me photos of class learning that you'd like posted.
Supplies - Supplies are still trickling in. Please see Cathy if you have questions on the status of an order. Please give her any packing slips you have.
Parking - Please park in the parking lot to the right of the school. Please do not park out back or in the visitors spots to the left of school.
Nurse - Sue Clarke has agreed to be our new school nurse on Tuesdays. She also works in Killington. Welcome Sue!
- Mon. - Patty
- Tues. - Cathy
- Wed. - Lisa
- Thurs. - Pam B.
- Fri. - Jen
Sub Plans - Please have your emergency sub plan folders/notebooks to Sherry by the end of the day by next Fri., Sept. 6. Copies should be made in advance. Mornings are too hectic to do that last minute.
Library - I still have work to do in the library but we will start meeting in there for library on Tuesdays. I am in the process of doing inventory, so please let me know if you have books in your room so I can account for them.
Technology - We have new Chrome books and I will be distributing and replacing the old ones over the next week. Feel free to use the old ones in the upstairs cart in the meantime.
Security - The doors are now kept open by mag locks. Please do NOT wedge any door. We have new security cameras around the building. We will discuss emergency procedures during our in-service time.
Schedule and Duties - We will finesse these on Tuesday. I will share the draft one with you later today.
Maintenance & Technology Requests - Please remember to use the forms rather than little pieces of paper in mailboxes. Our new maintenance director is monitoring building repairs and needs.
