RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG TO STAFF - Sun., Sept. 17, 2017
Dear Incredible RES Staff,
KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":
- Jen and Liza for all their hard work preparing the students for Agricultural Education Day at Tunbridge.
- Leticia, Kathi, and Pam for attending the PBIS meeting.
- Lisa and Patty for leading "Reading Runners."
- Everyone who is noticing respectful behavior and acknowledging students' behaviors with "Respect Tiles."
Important Items to Know:
Goals - Please complete your goal on the attached Google Form as requested by our Superintendent. Please complete this by Fri., Sept. 22. All staff are expected to do this. Please see me with questions.
Duty Change - So the paraeducators who return at 11:30 after their lunch, have the following duties: Joan will cover the office phones from 11:30-11:45. She will report outside at 11:30 to walk the kindergarteners in to wash their hands. Liza will have her 10 min. break adding to her lunch time from the morning, and then at 11:40 report outside to walk in the 1st and 2nd graders. The specials teacher on duty or the special educator will report to the cafeteria at 11:44 for Gr. 3/4 to come in and wash their hands a few at a time.
PBIS Committee - We had our 1st meeting of the year to review the policies already in place. We discussed the current policies and will continue using the Respect Tiles as the student acknowledgement of respectful behavior and respectful choices. Every classroom should have a "respectable" to empty into the large "rocket" on Fridays. Thank you for supporting the school PBIS community by participating.
Student Council - Last year we started Student Council, and based on student request, we will do this again. I believe 2nd grade through 6th grade is the best grades to represent. Please ELECT 2 representatives from EACH class, and one alternate to stand in for them if they are not there. I would suggest having the students give a little "speech" about why they would be a good representative, and they have to be willing to lose 10 min. of their recess twice a month. Their responsibilities will be to communicate your class suggestions as well as student council news. We will meet during recess on Wed., Sept. 20, in the Cafeteria at the Spanish tables from 11:15 - 11:25 PM.

Websites - We are trying to update our websites, and several of you need to create one. In order to assist with this, I'd like to offer a "New Google Site" workshop. I have two possible dates: These are EASY to do, and we can finish one fairly easy and link it on our webpage. If you're interested, see Cathy.
1st Aid/CPR Training - We will be offering a first/aid certification course here at RES on Tuesdays, Oct.3 and 10. Please let Sherri know if you're interested.
Morning Meeting Schedule - Every morning a teacher is in charge of the morning meeting that should begin promptly at 7:33 AM and end by 7:40 AM. Students should be in classrooms learning by 7:45 AM. (Whoever has that schedule, could you please share it with everyone, including me?)
