RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG TO STAFF - SUN., SEPT. 3, 2017

Dear Stupendous Staff,

What a GREAT start of the school year!  Thank to all of you who have "labored" so hard to get ready for this school year!  It's going to be a fantastic year!

KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":  

• Lisa for stepping up with Reading Runners!
• Patty and Jen for helping teach specific recess expectations.

Important Items to Know:

Emergency Drills - According the State of Vermont, we are to have a fire drill every month.   We do not have a fire drill planned as the fire inspector will be stopping by sometime in the next few weeks. PLEASE review the emergency fire drill procedure with your students.  We will have a lockdown drill the third week of September, so review those drills as well.  Specials teachers please check with the office if you have any questions.  

Maintenance Requests - PLEASE use the form, do not put "notes" in Jared's box.  I take your requests and add them to a list for him.  The forms help with consistency and help insure that the small pieces of paper don't get lost.

Staff Handbook - To make it easier, I have created a "draft" staff handbook to be a resource to people who miss trainings, etc.  I will be handing it out and discussing it at our first staff meeting on Wed., Sept. 6, from 2:45 - 3:45 PM.  

Tape Free- Scotch tape really plays havoc with paint, so please use push pins or painter's tape to display student's work in the hallway.

Welcome Back - Last year we had the pleasure of Chuck Vanderstreet working with one of our students.  He will be returning on Tuesday and will be working in Ms. Denoya's class.

Walkthroughs - I will begin walkthroughs after the Staff Meeting on Wed.  I will share the form with everyone in their mailboxes.  We will meet within 2 days to discuss briefly.

Staff Meeting - There is a staff meeting this Wed., Sept. 6, from 2:45 - 3:45 PM.  Please bring your calendar and a beverage.  Heather will have fruit and a snack for you.  Expect an agenda to be shared with you tomorrow.

School Supply List - Have you listed your supply list on the Google Doc yet?  We are asking families to spend no more than $15. on school supplies, as they help us "make the ends meet."   Parents will be able to view it today.  Supplies can be sandwich bags, earphones, kleenex with lotion, folders, composition books, colored pencils, etc.

Back to School Forms - Please send forms down to the office as soon as you can, but don't wait until the end of the day.  We expect a lot tomorrow!
