Only 15 days until a well-deserved break!  The school year is now half over!

  • Leticia for covering remaining Gr. 5/6 students so Cathy can help at Ski Runners.

Important Items to Know:   

 Report Cards - I will be reviewing all report cards before they are sent home.  Please let me know when I can review them online or give me hard copies if you'd prefer.  Report cards go home at the end of the day Wed., Jan. 31.  Please make sure your comments and grades are in agreement.  

Communication - Just a reminder that if you'd like to send something to staff or parents, just send me an e-mail with the word "BLOG" in the subject line.  We all get way too many e-mails, so the blog is a centralized place for communication to all.  Thanks for respecting  this request.  

 Change- I've been placing handouts in your mailboxes that are coming from the new SU and the State.  We are now part of a merged supervisory district and the "silo" individuality and autonomy of our school are a thing of the past. We will discuss this more at the Staff Meeting Mon., Feb. 5.  If you want to meet with me, please see Sherry to schedule a time.  Meeting with you is a priority unless an unavoidable situation prevents it.

Retirement - Just a reminder that the retirement letter was sent out from the SU and it has a time limit.  If you have questions about whether or not you qualify, please chat with Linda Loprete.  

Mama Mia Raffle - Please send me something to put in the blog about your basket.  Thanks for encouraging your students to bring in the needed items for your class basket.

School Choice - The new unified board voted to allow school choice.  That means that any of our students can go to any other school in the district - perhaps one that offers after school programming, i.e. Woodstock Elementary.  If we want to be competitive with the other schools, we need to consider getting a program going.  If you're interested in being part of this, please let me know.  It also means that parents can choose to send parents here, thus the need for an updated website!  Our website is more current than other schools in the SU, but individual classroom/subject area sites could still use some updating.  Thanks for your help!  If you need help with your website update, I'm happy to help.

                  Dear Tireless RES Staff, It is so inspiring to watch our staff prepare our students for the challenges of a global world.  I will be meeting with the rest of you this week to discuss your walkthroughs and celebrate the outstanding teaching that's going on!   KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":   Heather and Lisa who helped run to parents' houses to notify them that there was no school on Monday due to power loss!                   Dear Dedicated and Hardworking Staff, The rain was refreshing and its certainly cooled off!   Hope you had some down time for you! KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":   Kathi for all her work organizing the swimming for Pre-K! Lisa K. for all her work with the Lavender Sachets & Pumpkins! All of you who helped out with the Leaf Peeper's Breakfast! Important Items to Know : Parent Conferences - I am so surprised that there is no "day" for conferences here at the SU. I am happy to support you in anyway to make sure your days are not too long. Please make a Google Doc and share it with me of when your conferences are planned AND if they happen. Please let me know if you want me to join you in any of them. I am happy to get a sub so you can come in "late" or I will be happy to do a tech lesson with your students so you can meet with parents during the late afternoon.                   Dear Dynamic Staff, I was at my UVM library class this weekend and am reminded how blessed I am to work in such a small but caring school.  The book that we're currently reading is called Best Schools by Thomas Armstrong, and it is what our school culture resonates naturally.  KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":   Heather for "filling in the holes" whenever we're shorthanded!
