RES PRINCIPAL'S BLOG TO STAFF - Sun., Nov. 3, 2017

Dear Tireless RES Staff,

It is so inspiring to watch our staff prepare our students for the challenges of a global world.  I will be meeting with the rest of you this week to discuss your walkthroughs and celebrate the outstanding teaching that's going on!

KUDOS to STAFF Who "Stepped Up":
  • Heather and Lisa who helped run to parents' houses to notify them that there was no school on Monday due to power loss!
  • Jenn, Leticia, and Amy H. for calling parents to let them know school was closed!
  • Sherry for coming in Sat. to finish the State Census!
  • Lisa for all her work getting the pumpkins carved!
Important Items to Know:

Professional Behavior - Below are a few of the professional expectations that will be in the Staff Manual:
  • When staff are doing duty, they are encouraged to talk to the students and not standing talking to other adults.
  • Staff are encouraged to take their classrooms outside for learning experiences.
  • Staff should always take a radio with them with they are outside the building.
  • Staff members are responsible for completing accident reports for any injury that occurs at recess or while they are on a field trip.
  • When e-mailing a group of parents about a field trip, event, etc., please cc the principal and admin. asst.
Photos Needed - Please share photos from your class and events so that I can post them in the blog and on the website!

Afterschool Program - We are looking for teachers/staff that are interested in helping be part of the after school program.  We have Title money for tutoring but there has to be at least two students in a tutoring session to have it paid for.  Please see Mrs. Knight if you are interested.

Leadership Message - There was an e-mail from our superintendent sent to everyone last week about a need for volunteers for a leadership team.  It would be great if Reading was represented.

Library/Tech Time - There is no school this Friday, so please encourage your classes to bring in all library books.  I am happy to provide library at another time this week for you if you let me know when it is.

Behavior Code - Here's an interesting article I found this week as I was doing some research for my grad classes.  I thought I would share it with you'all.
